Call for Nomination: 2019 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Small Area Estimation

The Scientific Program Committee (SPC) and Local Organization Committee of the Conference on Current Trends in Survey Statistics 2019 (hereafter, Conference) are jointly inviting nomination for the 2019 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Small Area Estimation (SAE Award). The 2017 SAE Award recipient was Professor J. N. K. Rao during the SAE 2017 conference in Paris, France. The 2018 SAE Award recipient was Professor Danny Pfeffermann during the SAE 2018 in Shanghai, China.

Selection Criterion: The Award is in recognition of an individual who has made outstanding contribution to the research, application, and education of small area estimation (SAE). The selection of the winner is worldwide. At most one award will be given each year.

Selection Process and Deadline: A nomination consists of a nomination letter (limited to two double-spaced pages) and a C.V. of the nominee (limited to six single-spaced pages). All nominations should be sent by email to jimjiang@ucdavis.edu. The deadline for receiving the nomination is June 1, 2019.

The Award: A Medal of Honor will be awarded to the winner during the Conference. The winner is expected to deliver a 10-minute speech upon receiving the SAE Award.

Note: The SAE 2019 Award Committee is not a permanent award committee. Future awards, or whether there will be an SAE Award in any given year, will be decided by the organizing committees of future SAE conferences.

For more information, please contact Jiming Jiang, Chair of the SAE Award Committee.

The conference is fully subscribed and registration is closed.
