 Overview

 

In recent years, the interplay between algebraic topology and theoretical physics, in particular quantum field theories and string theory, has played a significant role in the work of many researchers. The ideas from quantum field theories and string theories have profoundly influenced algebraic topology. There are several significant progresses in the past years.

 

This workshop will be focusing on, but not limited to, the following topics:

1) K theory, elliptic cohomology and various field theories;

2) String topology

 

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers working on the areas to communicate ideas and dig out the connections as well as stimulate possible research collaboration. The workshop will also provide opportunities to graduate students, both locally and internationally, to learn new progresses of the relevant fields as well as communicate with working mathematicians.


 Activities

 

In this 5-day workshop, there will be 4-5 lectures on each day.
