The main focus of our program is on the areas of Design Theory and Additive Combinatorics. Design Theory originally deals with problems of arranging objects according to certain rules. In recent years, it has found important applications in Computer Science, Statistics, and Digital Communication. In particular, there is a wide variety of applications of Designs Theory in Coding and Cryptography. Additive Combinatorics is an area connecting Additive Number Theory and Combinatorics, which has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade. In particular, methods from Combinatorics have been used successfully to attack deep problems in Number Theory. The aim of the program is to bring together academic researchers in Design Theory and Additive Combinatorics to explore new techniques and problems that related these two areas.
The program consists of mini-courses, one workshop and two weeks of informal discussions involving well-established experts as well as PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
