 Overview

The Eleventh Asian Logic Conference will be held in Singapore from June 22 to 27, 2009. The Asian Logic Conference series is sponsored by the Association for Symbolic Logic and the meetings are major international events in mathematical logic. The series features the latest scientific developments in the fields in mathematical logic and applications, logic in computer science, and philosophical logics. It also aims at promoting activities of mathematical logic in the Asia-Pacific region and bringing logicians both from within Asia and elsewhere together to exchange information and ideas.

From 1981 to 2008, the Asian Logic Conference has been held triennially and rotated among countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The previous meetings took place in Singapore (1981), Bangkok (1984), Beijing (1987), Tokyo (1990), Singapore (1993), Beijing (1996), Hsi-Tou (1999), Chongqing (2002), Novosibirsk (2005) and Kobe (2008). In year 2008, the East Asian and Australasia Committees of the Association of Symbolic Logic decided to shorten the three year cycle to two. The committee also chose Singapore 2009 to begin the new cycle in honor of Professor Chitat Chong's 60th birthday. Professor Chong is one of the founders of the Asian Logic Conference series and a central figure in establishing Mathematical Logic in Asia.

The program will cover a wide range of topics and will feature plenary lectures presented by leading specialists in every major area of mathematical logic. In addition there will be many contributed talks.
